Want to hear a story? Come hear it in our newest outdoor learning space

If you went by the back of Belvedere this weekend, you may have heard the buzz of saws and cracking of hammers against wood as Eagle Scout candidate Jamie Ford-Lane and his crew of volunteers built a new storytelling area for Belvedere. The space, located in the open courtyard by the trailers, consists of six half-log benches arranged in a quarter-circle around a larger storytelling chair, big enough for a teacher, a child and a stack of books (and probably a cup of coffee!).

We will stain the wood at this Saturday’s (Nov 7) garden work day, from 10-noon. Please join us if you can! We’ll also be building a Civil War bed for the Garden of Time/Jardin del Tiempo at the front of the school and installing engraved bricks in the courtyard.

Many thanks to Jamie, his parents, and his volunteers for the gorgeous new place to learn in the great outdoors.

Thank you also to Tyson’s Tree Service for donating the logs.
