1st grade presentation on tree nursery collection

The Oct. 21 (2013) post announced that the first grade had collected more than 1,000 tree seeds for Belvedere’s new tree nursery. The first grade teachers included the seedling collection as part of the Primary Years Program (PYP) unit on Who We Are, which focused on citizenship. First grade teacher Allyson McClung put together this wonderful, photo-filled Powerpoint to explain the students’ efforts and the nursery’s greater purpose. Enjoy!

  1. What a commendable thing to do. Way to go 1st grade citizens! It shows that every person and every little bit helps and adds up. Over 800 possible trees for the future from seeds on the school grounds…who would have thought. Sounds like a daunting task, but you made it look fun and easy. You are truly leaving a green footprint for the future. Nice work!
